Itsy Bitsy Beetle

"Until you've learned to drive,
you've never really learned how to swear."
by Robert Paul

How really true. I still remember the first few times that I started driving. My mouth spoke more than what my feet did. I kept on complaining and whining about road conditions and intolerable drivers but not now. Not anymore. Asam garam hidup, I learnt and I took it to my stride. Almost two years on the road and I hope I know better.

I helped the mak buyong yesterday to fetch her car from the workshop. She was on a four cars collision on a highway, being the second car on the row, the damage was quite harsh. Luckily, she didn't suffer any terrible injuries. I drove the proton car that was given to her temporarily. I was rusty, not forgetting that I still have a fever on me but a few minutes later I'm doing good. I have this funny habit of needing to get used to the car in order to drive it. Call me silly.

When I drove under the heavy rainy weather, I almost hoped of having super powers; quick reflexes, agility, see through visions etc. It was hard work when you drive a manual car. I still remember what my aunt told me about her car accident two decades ago. She was visiting relatives at a kampung, when the volkswagen car she drove lost control and crashed into the coconut tree. Hehe. Until now she still has some phobia about driving but she's learning again.

At least for now I don't have to depend on myself so much. The dearest one can drive. Alhamdulillah.. many more snoozing in the passenger seat to come.

Aci, manyak senang ah.
