It was the day that brings me massive headache but at the same time, impended me into compulsive buying. It was my first time going to Ikea and Giant since its first opening. I suspected that the crowd would be huge at Giant since it has just opened this month and boy was I right. People pushed and shoved to get their things along with the wheel carts. By the time I was in the heart of Giant, I was practically angry and flustered. Me being me, I am very sensitive and allergic to huge huge crowds. It gets me all bottled up with uneasiness and spite. The funny part is: why do I ever agree to go there on a sunday? Serves me right la..
We only bought a basketful of items which we can actually buy at the neighbourhood supermarket (and less hassle at that). Chocolates, fruit juice, longans, marshmallow and not forgetting huiji body tonic. I tasted the tonic before and it was bitter but dad however, is religiously taking his share. He said being healthy especially in his middle age is important. He kept a lookout too in maintaining his appearance. Recently, an age defying body lotion landed on his shelf. Now to think from whom I'm getting my vanity genes, I guess I had a direction. *winks*
So back to Giant. After all the shopping and shoving, I began to get hungry. The foodcourt next to Giant was full and it was not worth waiting for empty seats. Instead we head to Ikea, hoping that luck is with us and the restaurant will be accomodating. Wishful thinking..I know. The moment we got there, it's packed. At this point, we couldn't made a u-turn so we stayed there and eyed for empty seats like a pack of vultures. Finally after straining my eyes, we got ourselves empty high chair seats. I must say the ambience is nice though I'll appreciate it more if the crowds were lesser.
After the late lunch, we browsed through the stuffs at Ikea floor by floor. As much as I like the clean concept of the furniture there, I still love those at Barang Barang. Somehow when I stepped inside Barang Barang, I felt homier and cozier. Even my mum said so. Nevertheless, I still go for the cheap stuffs at Ikea. Those five bucks frame, ten bucks antique lantern, seven bucks wall mirror and the bargain goes on. If I'm not trying to save more money, I would have picked one of everything.
So there.. I did a bit of guilty-free shopping. Though my mum would say she needs to pry me off Ikea using a crowbar cause I just wouldn't want to left. Haha. What can I say, the accesories are all to my liking. Perhaps another spendeour for another time. Khoda Hafaz, everyone.
